Hi All

I bought this coin out of curiosity. It definitely has the look of a celtic bronze potin but I can't seem to find it.
Your thoughts on it would be totally appreciated. Celtic coinage is a new passion of mine and only just getting started.

Thanks all in advance
Brian

@bhx7, I'm glad that Celtic coinage is a new passion of yours. We don't seem to really have an expert in this field here on CCF that I am aware of, so I'm unfortunately I'm not sure how helpful we will be. Perhaps with my response and the subsequent return to the top of the list for this thread, someone who can add information will weigh in. In the case that you continue to get radio silence on this forum, you could consider reaching out to Chris Rudd (CelticCoins.com). I believe that they are located in Aylsham, Norfolk.

I'd wager that this isn't celtic at all, but rather a Judaean lepton. They imitated the Seleucids in terms of flan manufacture for the small bronzes, where the coins were cast in long strips, with each coin having a slightly narrower, domed obverse, and a wider, flat reverse.

Thanks Spence and Finn235. I will look into the Judean Lepton and see if I can maybe identify there. Very much appreciated Finn235.
