Pitted but details are acceptable maybe F-12.
Attempting to identify this Vermont variety.
On reverse looks like the coin was struck over a Nova Constellatio.

This is a Machin's Mills imitation halfpenny, 1778 (not 1787)
Vlack 12-78b (R3) - no stop after GEORGIVS, large full stop after REX, branch hand points between T-A, date below single line exergue
Fine sharpness, porous planchet.

I do see what looks like rays on the reverse, so it may have been overstruck on a Vermont landscape copper or on a Nova Constellatio, but it's hard to tell with the porosity.

Some Machin's Mills coppers were struck in Vermont in partnership with Harmon's mint operation there. When the Vermont minting failed, Machin and Atlee acquired the dies and remaining machinery from Harmon. As such, they are considered both Machin's Mills and Vermont issues (Ryder #'s 30, 31, etc.) These issues were most likely struck in 1787-88 with some backdated for unknown reasons.

Machin's Mills also produced a quantity of legitimate/authentic Vermont coppers under that partnership before they began striking the imitation halfpennies.

Edit: just a note -- Machin's obverses can be found muled with Connecticut and Vermont reverses (INDE ET LIB / ETLIB INDE) as well as overstruck on various colonial issues. The issues considered as being more "Vermont" will have the INDE ET LIB reverse; the imitation halfpennies, the BRITANNIA reverse.

You're welcome. I just try to be helpful. I may not be right all of the time but I try to at least provide reasonably useful info.
