With everyone searching and searching for the W quarters, one must wonder how many original bank wrapped 2019 rolls will survive. Will this make them someday scarce and more desirable? Will the U.S. Mint OBW 2019 rolls also not gain any value as it will be a certainty no W quarters will exist in those rolls? Or will the momentum feed off a projected lack of OBW 2019 quarter rolls and all rolls will gain tremendous value in the long run?

A lot of talk about this subject. The hype will die down. The value will continue for the high MS coins if there aren't many out there.

My concern was for rolls of the P and D minted coins. Inevitably, some W coins may be inside.

Oh, I see your point. It's all subjective in my opinion. Yes, I suppose there may be less rolls of P's and D's. The whole point of this W quarters hype, was to mix them in with normal circulated coins. Keep in mind, there were only 2 million of each W quarter series minted.

My thoughts...
You can buy P+D rolls from the mint intact without Ws in them if you wanted to set some aside. OBW rolls in general are a gimmick in my opinion, I'd rather go through 40 rolls and put together a tube of the best examples to set aside rather than sit on a roll of unknowns, that said though people make money off of it on the bay, selling OBW rolls and people buy them.

As OBW 2019 rolls get scarce in the future due to the Ws, I can see the price rising on them, but, I can also see a scam side of it where they were searched and will just be solid Ps or Ds and no Ws, and of course the seller will say "ohhhh, bad luck!"
I mean at the beginning I bought 10 rolls from a webite seller that claimed "guaranteed unsearched". That seller now sells the Ws by themselves. Needless to say all 10 rolls didn't have a single W in them and I am certain they searched them to take out the Ws to sell.

I don't really know, market dynamics, supply and demand, what it's worth vs. What someone is willing to pay, where it ends I don't know.

In the end people buy OBW with the hopes of pulling out a great example from it years later, like a time capsule. If people strike out that demand is gonna dry up quick and people will just buy the graded W they want and skip the gimmick.

In the end its about the coins, not the rolls. I could see 50 years from now the roll hunters beating up all the Ps and Ds 2019s looking for the Ws and finding a high graded examples P or D being the harder coin to find than the Ws.

You'll get hooligans marketing the rolls as "shotgun rolls" or the TV personalities with the OBW offer...one roll for $39.95.
