I won my first commemorative off ebay yesterday. What do you guys think. I saw it last minute and had to buy it...

Here's one more...

I would imagine that this one is probably a copy, but I like how it looks. What are your opinions. Thanks!

Here's what one buyer's feedback was on the Korean coin; "communictation POOR! NOT a real coin but a FAKE! VERY VERY disapointed". So yep it's probably a copy.

No, I don't think the first one is an official coin. I just thought it was nice looking . I pretty much knew that the Korean coin was fake. It was only a buck so as long as I receive it I'm ok with that.

Two problems here-

neither is a commemorative coin, just privately made medals

secondly, it was not just a buck- you cannot think of ebay transactions like that. Add in shipping and you just paid $6.50, not alot of money but certainly more than a buck.
The Korean one is a "replica" of the 1991 Korean War Memorial silver dollar.

Everyone should "at least" buy a RedBook. It lists ALL Commemorative coins minted by the U.S. Mint........
Then one can eliminate a lot of bad purchases.....

Wow. First off I think the Korean War commemorative has "Thirty Eighth Anniversary Commemorative" on the Obverse, which signified the 38th Parallel, and "Korea" in bold letters beneath that. I know it's called the Korean War Commemorative coin, but since it was never officially considered a war but a police action, I don't think they would have put the word "War" on it...and if they DID, they would've said Korean War, not "Korea War". I know you got it for less than a buck, but still....
Anyhoo, I'll be interested to know what it's made of when you receive it.

There's something extra special "weird" about China making a "Korea War" coin...(spelling it wrong!).
In that they were SO INVOLVED IN THAT WAR AS AN ENEMY OF OURS !! HOW CAN THEY MAKE A SO CALLED "COMMEM. COIN" COMMEMORATING "OUR" SIDE WITH AN AMERICAN SOLDIER ON IT !!......AND THEN SELL IT TO "US" !!.......THIS IS JUST "WEIRD" !!

Yeah, Eaglefoot, it's their way of sticking it to us! Sorta like how Japan took over the electronics manufacturing role in the 70's and auto mfg. role in the 70's and 80's!

Right, I just checked it out, Bryan. Of course it took me a while to get down there because I love seeing well assembled 7070 collections!
OK, I'm gonna go back and look at it some more!

By the way, what year is your Bronze IHC? I can't quite make it out.
