1989-P With Obeverse Clash Extra "8"

Here is one I found yesterday, it has an EXTRA "8" on the obverse plus near the bust it has (trust). You could see buy the rim that this is no SQUEEZE job on the coin.

Are those details incuse or raised on the coin? If it were a die clash, I would expect reverse details to be on the obverse. I think a "vise job" might be more likely...but I'll wait to hear what the experts say.

Face to face, 1 turned aprox 180 degrees and squeezed.

You can tell by the rim and the impression on the inner rim this is a squeeze job!

Vise squeezed.
1989-P-With-Obeverse-Clash-Extra-
The reverse letters on the bust is a dead give away. The 8 mirrored is still the same. But the rest of the letters show what really happened to it. The reverse shows some flattening removing some of the design. Usually if you find these in circulated coins, it is tampered with and re-spent. The example I posted was sold on ebay and someone got took. I emailed the seller that it was a fake, but I think he knew that.

yep, squeeze job....did you notice that the word "TRUST" is imprinted backwards at the bottom?

Well I guess it pays off to keep roll searching because I found my 2nd 1988-rdv-006 and I qwas very HAPPY about that it made my week.
