Looks like an Encased Coin,in order to show off the reverse for a pendant or some sort of jewelry...PMD..

Spent too long in a casino back in the day. And now they use cards for gaming.

Lol some casinos still use half dollars, I don't think any use the dollar coins anymore. This one is in really good shape if it's been in a machine
