Picked up a 42 florin and this shilling at the LCS for $7.50 US. Not a bad date, but is this only melt at this grade?

That dog is gVG at best - its got wear across the whole face and the kangaroo and emus are nearly silhouettes.

Barely Fine and that is me being superkind.

It'll be interesting to know how much lead you get out of the " coin " if it's melted it down. 100% ?

borderline yes, I believe pre 1936 sterling is hard to find these days in good condition unless you want to pay good money so keeping a shilling is extremely fine as many poorer examples get melted down.

Condition is VF~F however eye appeal is terrible. Still a keeper
