I don't collect these. I have but one in my collection just to have an example. I know one looks at how distinct the feathers are in the headress as one measure of determine mint state, but beyond that I'm clueless. I'm sure this is a big help. Go to PCGS site to compare examples I guess.
Pretty safe to call it AU but we need to see the reverse. This is considered a common date and is valued almost entirely on its gold content in AU condition.
Confirming the weight and dimensions will pretty much guarantee you have a gold piece with about $677 in gold content.
