Hello all, just wondering if its worth sending this Buffalo in for grading. What are you thoughts on grades? Thank you for your time,
Edward M.

AU-55 at best, also appears to have been cleaned.

Nice coin! You have a well struck late middle die state obverse and a middle die state reverse. There is just a touch of wear on the hair above the braid, cheek, knot, and ribbon. The reverse shows a touch of wear on the buffalo's head, front shoulder, and flank. The reverse has full detail on the horn, eye, beard, front legs, and rear legs, with a weak split on the tail. I see both the obverse and reverse as AU-55, straight grade.

You may want to take a closer look at your obverse and compare it to 1913 DDO-002 on Variety Vista. I can't see the subtle doubling in your photo, but I do see a die crack from the nose to the rim, hair to the rim, and in the buffalo's head extending to the rim. It could well just be coincidental (these are common die cracks), but they look fairly close to the markers for this fairly common variety.

It wouldn't be worth slabbing, but would easily sell raw as AU on a bourse floor. Again, great collectible coin.
