New To Coin Collecting. Trying To Determine If This Penny Is An Abnormality

I can't get my phone to take a decent picture (it's a crappy phone without high enough resolution ) so I'm hoping someone can post some photos of pennies struck on a dime planchette so I can see if what I have is that, or possibly someone just filed down the penny till it weighed 2.2 ... It almost looks like a photo negative... That's the best way I can think to describe it. With copper and silver tie-dye ... But it's definitely a Lincoln head... 1997D. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 06/24/2019 6:11 pm Sounds like an acid dipped coin. They used to convert cents into dimes to use in the pop machine years ago. The vending machines were 7 cents for a 7 oz Bottle. 10 bottles and then cans later were 10 cents. Probably dated before 1965? Report this Post to the Staff
