Hi all,

Just wondering if you think this would pass for MS grading. Details are sharp but seems to have been cleaned.

Grateful for your input

Au details.
The coin has slight wear, by definition that excludes it from any MS designation.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Deliberately defaced, I'm guessing.

It wouldn't qualify for ms grade I'd say it would be AU50 harshly cleaned or altered not familiar with that sort of damage. A retail price a person would expect a vf 20 price IMO due to the damage/cleaning

There's actually not a lot od wear.

Definitely not MS, but wear-wise, probably an AU-58.

What's more concerning are the marked surfaces.

Looks like your au58 dime was kept in a jar of coins for 50 years and got rattled around from time to time, resulting in a somewhat high grade coin with beat up surfaces.

All in all, net worth probably more like an ef40.
