I cherrypicked this from a coin shop a couple days ago for $12. I have been looking for this variety for about a year, and now I have found two in the last two weeks. This one, while a lower grade (I think AG-03), is in better shape than my previous. For anyone wondering: I was able to attribute this as the DDO without the use of the motto by the strong doubling on the left side of the coin, on the leaves and arrow (The arrow has an extra tip on the bottom right of it).

On a side note, I am aware of the condition of the reverse, and would appreciate any help in conserving it. Would Verdi-care do the trick? If so, I will try to pick some up at my next coin show.

Thank you for taking a look!

Nice find. I do not think verdi would help and I doubt you can find it at a coin show anyway.

Congrats on finally finding one in the wild, as with me it took awhile, then they started to come up more frequently, I find one every year or so, now it seems, always in low grade of course, but it's still a thrill to cherrypick this variety.

Thanks! Even if it's a fairly easy variety to locate, I'm very happy to find this one. Now, if I can find a VG-F example or better....

I have long admired the Two Cent coins, and I am going to work on cherrypicking the nice (and large) variety of 1864 RPDs, along with any DDO / DDRs and clashes I find. Thanks for your comment. :)
