Hello everybody, I'm a Texan. I'm happy to be part of the coin community family. I guess I'm in the process of collecting coins. I started out searching for coins because I was looking for my 1943 penny I thought I had but anyway I found this unique coin. I want to know if these are errors or what.It has a large size number 9 across Lincoln's face and a large size number 1 on his body. On the obverse I see stripes on the letters and the building. Here are pics.

This isn't an error of sort. Post mint damage. Stamped by hand basically...the reverse of the coins damage was due to the obverse being stamped, possibly hammer/cloth and stamper..etc.

Not an error of ANY sort. Damaged.

The particular type of damage is called countermarked or counterstamped (they're used pretty much interchangeably) and you can Google the terms.

In this case, somebody probably made a set as some kind of marker. Maybe locker chits. Ball markers. Tool checks. Lockouts.

To CCF! Not an error coin. This is a Counterstamp, which is Post Strike Damage ( PSD). This cannot happen at the U.S. Mint.
