Is this normal? I've never seen a penny this color, but also haven't been looking at pennies like I am now. The picture is with another 2013 penny so you can see the difference I'm referring to. Thanks everyone :)

I believe it's just toning due to being in circulation..nothing special, unless you like it...I do fill a folder with nicely toned ones

I kind of figured it was just some weird toning thing going on. I love it and am definitely keeping it! Thank you &

I assume you are asking about the coin on the left? If so, it may just be toning, but it could also be a very thin layer of lacquer. I have seen that same yellow tint on lacquered coins before. Just a thought.

Yes, the yellow colored one, not the golden ticket I was hoping for haha. Wow, I didn't know people lacquered their coins. Thank you!

Welome. I'm a fan of the vibrant colors copper coinage can exhibit like the one you have there. Like people, coins are a product of their environment.

I'm actually starting to see beauty in some coins...it's kind of funny, because I've never paid attention before. I hate to think what I've missed over the years!
