Mods, I posted this in two forums. Hope that is okay
As some of you may now I am a Massachusetts native and I moved with my wife and rugrats to Texas 15 years ago. I only get up to MA once a year ( in the summer ) other than funerals. :(
I love history, always have, but have only been collecting for four years now.
I will be in MA for about two weeks mid-month and I have been emailing back and forth with the curator. I set up a half day private viewing for the 12th. She says I need to get her my list of what she should pull no later than the tenth and limit it to 75 items max, less depending on size.
I know off the bat I want to see the Pine Tree Penny as well as the Washington Webster set of Comitia Americana Medals. That leaves another 60 (or less ) items.
She mentioned that I can look through Storer's "Numismatics of Massachusetts" because all items marked with a cross are there. She also mentioned looking through Neil Musante's recent Washington medal catalog, of which about 500 plates are there. I am going to order Storer's book, but that won't give me enough time. I sadly cannot afford Musante's catalog.
So I am asking for help. What would you suggest? If any of you want me to request specific items to photo and send to you, I will add it. She said pictures are fine as long as I am not "publishing" them.
Please, help me.
Thank you in advance.

I'd have to look at the Massachusetts silver , but I'd also want to see the coppers from 100 years later.
They say they have the pen that Lincoln used to sign the Emancipation Proclamation; I'd want to touch that.

Joecoin, I will ask about those. Though the pen I do not know about. She asked me to narrow the categories and I chose medals and coins. Supposedly they have 5000 medals and 30 coins (as many coins were sold). They do have the original Pine Tree penny.

Lincoln's table from his second inauguration, the 1912 Red Sox medal, NE three pence, Cotton Mather's pocketwatch, Gen. Joseph Warren's supposed sword, Prescott & Linzee mounted swords, Phillis Wheatley's writing desk, Phillis Wheatley's book...poems on various subjects; religious and moral, Thomas Jefferson's octogon table, Lincoln's pen used to sign the emancipation proclamation, letter from Paul Revere to Jeremy Belknap describing Paul Revere's Ride! I'll let some others chime in.... I work down the road from here a few T-stops away and doing this has never even crossed my mind. Thanks for sending me to the website.

When I type in a web search for coins there I get this... https://masshist.org/collections/artifacts but when I go directly to the search engine on their site I do not get a list of 30 coins. The coins might have been on loan there at some point. Nevertheless, I will check this place out with my sister and her boyfriend; both historians and one a tenured professor and the other soon to be I'm sure. It should make for a great outing for us and hopefully you as well.
