I visited a coin shop in Venice in October 2016. I found it quite by chance, near St Mark's Square. I bought some recent uncirculated commemorative 2-euro coins from Eastern European countries like Latvia and Lithuania, and they were good value. I think they had older coins from a range of countries, but I didn't really have time to browse!
When walking from the Piazza S. Croce in Florence to the Cathedral, I remember passing a professional looking coin shop, with various coins in the window ranging from Roman to modern Italian year sets, but that was about 20 years ago so it may not be there any more!
Rome is certain to have coin shops, although I have no recollection of seeing one there on my last visit in 2016, other than a coin and stamp shop just outside the Vatican where the main items on display were recent Vatican euro sets.
