Hello I am new to this site and new to coins so I don't know much about them. I was given some after my grandfather passed away so I started researching them a little bit and I'm wondering if I could get some help with what I think is an error on a 1900 Morgan half dollar. I have not seen an error anywhere like this online and I don't know who to ask or where to go to find out if this really an error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are some pictures. I have a hard time taking pictures and getting the errors to be visible but if you look at the 2 yellow circles on the back side of the coin I see some kind of imprint and line connecting the letters. Thank you for your help.

Looks like a die crack - not uncommon on Morgans

Condition is everything and a good sized die crack like that plus high grade would add to the premium slightly. Go check out VAMworld to match it up!

EDIT: Just saw you were new to the forum. In that case I'll provide you a link to VAMworld for your 1900-O.

Welcome to the CCF!

Thank you for the wonderful information and I will go to that site and look. I am really getting interested in this and I have several coins I have questions about. I'm even going to order a microscope to look at them better. I find this very interesting and all the history behind coins that I never knew about. Thanks again and I'm so glad I found this site!!

Glad to have you! Looking forward to seeing your other coins.

Along with the microscope, consider a 30x-60x loupe too.

Thank you for all the nice "Welcome" messages and help!! I am getting addicted to looking coins and learning about them. I think I'm going to just spend five minutes checking out a coin and before I know it its 3 hours later!! LOL

I apologize for the mistake of calling it a half dollar. I have been looking at so many lately and didn't realize I did that .
