Does the name of the colony (as depicted on the coin) start with any of the letters A through N inclusive?

King Edward who was King in 36-36, Canada never made a coin with his image. Would this apply to all the other colonies?

There were patterns made in England but no coins.

The only coins were from East Africa, British West Africa and Fiji, but none of them used an effigy of the king.

Does this coin have a depiction of George V. on it?

Indeed it does. Handsome fellow I might add.

It does not, thereby eliminating not only India, but also the dreaded Newfoundland!

We got this, we don't need 30 questions

I think this prediction will turn out to be true.

If I get a next turn I will go for one of those Ethiopian or Pahlavian colonies

Coach, your game sheet a few pages back was cool. You need to add how many wins for the guessers and wins for the Gamemaster stat. You know where I'd put my $. We have 10 questions to go.

Not from South Africa.

Here is a recap before I curl up with a set of labs to grade:

- issued after 1900 and before 1950
- minted for circulation in a colony of the country in which it was minted
- coin of the British empire
- coin from the reign of George V
- from a colony the name of which does not begin with letters A - N inclusive
- not a coin of South Africa

We are at 11 questions. If the issuing country has not been identified by question 13, I will have another clue.

The coin is not more than 100 years old (which further narrows the date range)

And yes, it IS from Straits Settlements!

13/20, and increasingly looking like the gamemaster's reign will be quite short

You are correct. The recap is (in this instance) a list of items drawn from the yes/no answers.

I looked at this question and I thought, "There goes Spence again, asking a poorly thought out question that's just a waste!"

Then I looked into it a little deeper and realized it is a brilliant question.

My apologies Spence.
