Welcome.

Here is the link to Variety Vista with images to help.

It has the markers that you need to look for.

Wouldn't be surprised to see this one end up north of $3,000.00
Here's the PCGS price guide link.

These pictures aren't a good representation of how the actual coin appears, it is over exposed. I can't tell if its been cleaned, and other imperfections can be hidden with wash out lighting. The story itself is one of the repeats, I would pass.

Good feedback, full return privileges, but I yield to @macmercury's expert input.
Rest in Peace

I'm no overdate expert but I just don't like this coin . I think the over date is exaggerated , and the MM looks a little off . The entire coin looks Unc. details with skin that looks pitted .
Forget this coin .

That 'ceramic' store had THAT amount of coinage? In a convenient safe in a newish looking bank bag? If you had a genuine untampered UNC 1942/1 Merc with excellent photos, then you wouldn't need a silly story....heck, you wouldn't even need a description for that matter. The coin would speak for itself.

Like Ray said, ten foot pole coin :D

The overdate looks right, but the coin is wayyyyyy cleaned/tampered with (not worth what it's going for rn) and that store is certainly NOT 200 years old
