And yet another great day ! Just when you think it might get boring...

Every once in awhile I pick a couple quick things to look at between major tasks, like the 2 Close AM 99 Lincolns I found last time I did this. This time I had Peg Leg Ikes and 70-S small dates on the brain...so I looked at about 150 or so 1971-S Blue Ikes- no Pegs

And so to make sure no one missed any small date proofs I looked at about 50 sets...none were mislabeled as large dates, but the fun was in the large dates ! I knew something was amiss when I saw it, and I am familiar with the variety from Cherry Pickers, but it was not really what I set out for. Got the loupe on it and lo and behold...A Small over Large Date DDO !

Wait...it gets better ...Decided to finish the sets and then scope and confirm the coin...two sets to go.....Second to last set...another one !!

Needless to say I earned my keep this week...whew !

I am going to purchase one of the sets, when I get it home I will try to get some better pics- but in the cello under the scope , this is as good as it gets.

I can't wait to go to work tomorrow !!

I've been looking at every 1960-D cent I get for the last several months but no luck yet....

Congrats on the find, I'm sure the shop owner is glad he brought you in!

Do you mind if I show the Business strike of the same. I just received this today. It is the old FS# 25.5. It is also a D/D. arrow 2nd photo.
Yours is a beautiful coin.
Jim

Also a few other die numbers from different sources.
Note them listed on coppercoins.com/

That's got to be one of my favorite LMC varieties--a dramatic D/D and unusual DDO on the same coin.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of loupe do you use? I am looking for some good ones. Thanks a million
