Here's a new purchase, graded by PCGS. Care to take a stab at assigning a grade?

This coin came with an "Eye Appeal Seal" on the holder. I've never seen one before but I guess it's an effort to compete with CAC. There is a website for this outfit where they list coins they have "sealed" so far.

Anybody seen this before?

It's been around for a bit, but their fees are STIFF if you look at their pricing. There's a lot of stickers out there but CAC is really the only one that has shown wide acceptance and Eagle Eye for Indian cents.

Most collectors won't put any weight into it

I'll say EF-45.

XF45 and AU50 would not surprise me. I think the high amount of surface marks will hold it down

but I'd go EF40 more than EF45 in my eyes, lack of luster and the heavier marks keep it form AU for me, but I see coins like this in AU holders all the time.

XF-45. The sticker on the back is of no interest to most collectors.

Probably AU-50, they tend to go easy on these early gold coins.

Looks like an honest XF45 shot AU50. Never seen that sticker before but it should say "Original Appeal Sticker" on this one because there is no hint of extracurricular activities on those surfaces.

I agree with this and it's a reason why this coin appealed to me.

There is a fair amount of luster peeking out around the periphery. There are a lot of small and a few medium contact marks but nothing particularly bothersome. I think this piece is a strong XF-45. PCGS gave it an AU-50 which might be a tad generous but perhaps the original surfaces brought it over the AU line.
Thanks for the comments!

Nice original gold coin. I was guessing xf40 til I saw the reveal.
