This coin has what looks to be extreme wear near the top of Kennedy's head, but one the reverse there is a raised metal bump. Any ideas as to what it is?

Looks like the coin was altered. If so then the weight should be a bit heavier than normal. To me it looks like something was added to the coin. Perhaps solder or an epoxy? But a second theory is that someone drilled a hole in the coin and tried to fix the issue later on when it was found. Just a spendable coin now.

It weighs 11.16 g, though the damage near the rim is probably acid, the letters are just fairly visible on the reverse and completely gone on the obverse, and it kind of looks like the metal came off in layers. The bump might be solder under a lense it looks like zinc/copper to me.

Well no premium for this, as it has been altered. The coating fills the reeds as well.

It doesn't look like a double-cud, but rather solder or some other material added to both sides of the coin.

Definitely Post Strike Damage ( PSD). It's now a cull coin. I would spend it the next time you use coins in change as payment.

I personally like it an going to keep it, I just was wondering what it was.

Edit: the part near the edge I though was worn, is definitely a coating, Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
