1983 P LMC Mint..can Someone Explain What's Going On With This Coin?

What I'm seeing here is to the left of the date;looks like there is a small portion where the bowtie would normally be a section is missing I'm also seeing some doubling on the reverse side in America The C has strong signs of it...

Not seeing the doubling on the reverse, but I do see an Over Polished die issue going on the obverse and reverse side. http://www.error-ref.com/thinning-a...gn-elements/

@DG101, first welcome to CCF. Second, I don't really see doubling on the C, although when I enlarge and enhance your pic for that area, it is a little hard to tell.

Thank you for the welcome....what really caught my eye on the C I'd the 2 small bands that seem to be wrapped around it...it also has the signs looking at the top and bottom of the C and the R..
