I have just completed a westward journey roll collection. All rolls are original mint wrapped. My question is with the p-d rolls of the 2004 peace nickel. Some sellers on ebay are selling peace rolls that are not the same size as far as height. I have purchased a peace roll p-d that are uneven also. Can someone explain the difference and if there is a higher value associated with these peace rolls. Only have seen this in the original mint wrappings. No big deal or big deal?
Rest in Peace

If they're shotgun wrap, it could be either a miscount or just how much tube was rolled down. I wouldn't think either would affect the price.

It is most likely NOT a miscount. The difference in the length of the rolls comes form a difference in striking quality between the P and D mints. If the striking pressure is higher at say Philadelphia, the rims will be more fully struck up and therefore slightly thicker at the edge. Since when the coins are stacked they rest on the rims, a stack of 40 nickels with slightly thicker edges will be taller than 40 nickels with thinner edges.

It's actually slightly counterintuitive. Most people think that a higher pressure strike would mean a thinner coin, but it actually results in a thicker one.
