My son and I recently took a trip to Vancouver BC for his graduation trip at his request. I have to say this was the most beautiful scenery we have ever experienced, not to mention a great father-son excursion. While I was there I wanted to get some Canadian coins to collect by way of getting change every time I bought something and paid in cash. One nickel I got looked brand new but did not have a date below the "Canada" on the obverse. Every other Canadian nickel I have ever seen has a date.

I am sure this is a common coin but I will admit I am ignorant when it comes to Canadian coins. Could someone satisfy my curiosity and tell me why this nickel has no date?

Thank you!

@CP, sounds like a great trip! While Canadian coins are not my specialty, I do note that the 2002 nickels have a dual date to the left of the Queen's portrait. Perhaps this is what you have? Either way, adding a couple pics of your coin would really help this thread. Thx!

Thanks guys. As I was checking I find I also have a dime with the same characteristics. They both look to have just come out of the rolls.
I apologize for the pics, best I could do for now. Thanks again!

Both have the dates "1952-2002 P" on the reverse.
