I heard of the 1988 P doubled ear Lincoln coin but never a Denver minted version. Can someone help me out to figure this out please? coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 07/14/2019 9:36 pm If the earlobe is a doubled die, then the doubling would be on the die, making the area on the coin raised, not incuse. An incuse mark of 99% of the time, just damage to the coin. Click on these images and not on all of these, the affected areas are raised, not incuse, on the coins because of the doubling on the die.
