US gold coins were counterfeited in mass numbers in the 60's and 70's from real gold to satisfy the demand of gold coins wanted by Middle East merchants at the time. Some of these counterfeit were well made and deceptive to the novice. I am not going to give an opinion from your photos if the coins are genuine or counterfeit.
