9/12/08 $33.50 (67 rolls)

The interesting part of this was the 8 rolls in the box that had tape on the ends. Alot of AU+ 1972-1977 cents in there, all were almost all pre 1982. I think it is obvious that the few that were over 1982 were from pulling wheats. Weird thing was that except the AU+ coins, the rest were well worn. I would have expected some of the 1960's coins to be XF+. My guess is that someone saved these cents up back around 1978 (maybe mainly in 1975 by the number of 1975 AU+ cents), yet had no nice older coins in there. I know that back in the 80s, you could still easily get 60s cents in AU+ quality in change. That bunch is just interesting to me, I wish I could talk to that person and get the history on the coins.
I ended up making up rolls of copper from these as it's just interesting to me in this case.

1995, glad to hear you are back enjoying coins and roll searching. I am pretty much addicted to cent rolls. I will be posting some neat finds over the next few day. There are great things in them, keep searching and have fun. Jim

I have a feeling I'll be moving up to buying boxes of pennies. I'm totally hooked on pennies as a high-return coin of chance lol. I have an ANACS-graded MS67 1969, which the Coin World book says should retail at 4,000.00, and I have two "wild" (ungraded) 69s which are in even better condition than the ANACS! I signed on with PCGS and plan to send those next for grading. Seems like there are collectable pennies in every roll. JD

Late update on the nickels. I was excited to find a 1953 Canadian nickel in XF condition. I know it's not worth much, but it was a real surprise. :D

Today I turned in $50 in coin at two different banks. Bank #1 I have been working my way through a box of halves they have. They are down to $160 worth. All but 1 roll has been brinks rolls, the other one a customer roll. Out of the customer roll I got a 1967 and 2000D. The brinks rolls have given nothing so far. I am hoping that there will be a couple more customer rolls in there.
What I do is take $50 in coins to bank #1 and get $50 in halves (slowly increasing my play money.. I think I started at $20). I check those in the parking lot and reroll them. Then I drive down the road to bank #2 and turn them in to get other coins. Today I've been doing nickels.
Pretty happy that I got the 40% clad half and a silver nickel today. :D

I was excited to find the proof! It's in pretty good condition too. My guess PF-55, decent looking coin for roll searching. Same roll gave me one of 2 1929S.

I must say, this was one of the most boring 100 rolls of cents searched. Of interest is how few wheats I got and that I got 3 dimes. The tellers have been saying that people have been turning in alot of cents lately. From how many 1983+ cents I looked at, I can believe it. I was hoping that people turning in cents would mean that maybe I'd get lucky. LOL

Slim pickings this evening on nickels, but if I could get 1 silver out of every 20 rolls I'd be happy :D
