These appear to be die cracks.

The rim damage was probably from using the coin as a coin flipper, or someone dropped this coin. I agree die cracks on the obverse. It doesn't appear that the die isn't breaking away yet. (tuning into a Cud) What is going on below the ear? Maybe a curly hair on the coin?
