*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. Previously posted in Canadian Variety and Error Coins***Hi! New to the forum and I'm so happy to have found you! I cannot find anyone to look at this! Hoping someone can give me an answer. What are these 2 distinct dots and a strange 'symbol' and/or letter under them. There is also a circle in the crook of the last 4. They are nowhere else on the coin. I've circled them in yellow. Sorry I cannot load a more distinct photo! Thank you in advance!!  Edited by Starr2

That's a US penny ..this is Canadian. From the photo, it just looks like corrosion that has raised the surface. However, the circle on the 4 looks like something else.

I seriously wish I could load a better picture!
It's def not corrosion tho...who could/should I take this to to get looked at?
My dad suggested that I have it looked at a long time ago, and I never did. I used to work in a bank, and would purchase old coins when they came in. This could well be one of them, because it's definitely unique. I've had it for years because of those oddities.

Pal, it's just PSD, nothing special, certainly not worth getting it looked at. I've seen multiple coins with different types of damage, and this is one of the rarer type of PSD's I've seen. Either way, this coin is worth 1 cent, nothing more. |

Sorry Starr2, but it's only a damaged coin. PSD. There's absolutely no way that happened at the U.S. Mint. Errers and Varietys.
