I see the price has been falling, three of these were sold in the past couple of months. Unfortunately for you. A good friend and market maker in the VAM world has looked at the photos here and said he feels the coin is around a $3500 value currently. Not trying to dampen spirits, but always strike when the iron is hot, hold on to it maybe prices will rebound. There is one in the upcoming HA auction on August 14-18 ANA US coins Signature Auction - Chicago #1298 Lot #4157 (currently bid at $3400 with a (I beleve $3500) reserve, it also is a VLDS and has the reverse look of your coin. One just sold in Orlando at the Summer FUN HA auction on July 14th for $3120 Lot #3635. Looks like the days of five figures on these might be over for awhile. I wonder why PCGS didn't label the VAM 1B as "1B4" or put "very late die state" or even "LDS" on it, that is the difference of hundreds vs. thousands of dollars. Then again the TPGs are very inconsistent with labels. PCGS has labeled others simply "Scar Face" with no VAM designation NGC has EDS or LDS on some yet not others, ANACS is super bad about that in my 2C series, some have F/S cherry picker #'s, others have Flynn #'s, while even more just say "RPD" only or "Re-Punched Date" again no designation #'s at all. It makes it very tough for research to dig into population reports and gather all the same coins up to evaluate pricing or selling trends, as there is no continuity what-so-ever. Drives me batty. See my response above I just edited it with a relevant rant LOL. I'd hope he doesn't look at recent auction sales, but only sees the ones from a year ago or more, when these were in the $6-10K range.
Follow lot #4157 in Auction #1298 at HA.com it ends on 8/7/19 that will be the new price on a late stage Scarface in MS63.

All of my offers have been over 8K. 3500 is pretty unbelievable. I would take 6 high quality bars.
