It's normal. The DDR-001 has a very visible spread on EPU.

Jatour, what site are you looking at to match your coins to? Man, we're here to help. There are a lot of thing to look for on doubled dies not to mention the obvious, doubling. Like, if it has a mint mark does its position match known specimens? Little things like die gouges, die cracks to try and match. It'll make your head spin, I know it did mine when I first started out. Once you start educating yourself by going to the different sites and you do find the real deal, it's satisfying to know you know what to look for and can tell what stage it is by following the the markers. Hang in there. When you do find the real deal we'll all be happy for you. Just hang in there.

Everyone here's here to help you. There's really nothing we can do to help besides tell you that the doubled die or variety has to match pretty much perfectly but this isn't even close. Really good pics though!

Perhaps he needs to be told/shown what markers to look for on this DDR 001. If I knew what they were I would explain them.

Don't get offended when you post a coin here and people help you out for free. You are still new and have much to learn just like me. You'll know when you find a legit doubled die.
Cheers

Jim0815 was spot on, with his advise. It is overwhelming to try and take all numismatic and cram it into your head at once. There is a ton of books and periodicals printed on the subject, so "get the book and then the coin".
If you take your time and be patient, it makes the find "when they come along" all that much sweeter.

And I'm thinking it being a circulated coin it won't be as pronounced as the pics I compare them too.

Jatour: Here is the ED from your post and the same letters from coops post. I hope you can see the difference. Keep in mind that for your coin to be the 1DR-001 it must look exactly like the one shown on coppercoins.com and doubleddie.com.
