Hello, I found a 2006-D Lincoln Cent that has some sort of something on the reverse side. I'm not sure if you would call this doubling or not and it is something I have never seen before. Can anyone help?

to CCF. If you are talking about that little bump in bay 1,it is the start of a die chip I am pretty sure.

It might also be a bubble in the plating. In either case, I'd classify this as an minor imperfection as opposed to an error.

I agree with a die chip or gas bubble.

That's cool Lucky Cuss!

To CCF! Most likely a Pre-Die Chip depression.

Sorry for the blurry photos and my lack of knowledge, just trying to learn what is what. These photos are of the same coin and I just want to clarify that when I see these types of imperfections they are just die chips and they are nothing to get excited about. Correct?

Also, thank you for the warm welcoming and for the insight provided! It's amazing how many people are willing to take the time to help.

Die chips become more exciting the larger they get.
