Issac Newton 50p With Weird Marking

Shaun-85 New Member United Kingdom 2 Posts	Posted 07/28/2019 09:03 am I'm not a serious coin collector but I do keep 50ps I find in my change with interesting designs like the Beatrix potter collection, London olympics and so on. Recently I found the Issac Newton 50p which again I kept. While looking at it a little closer I noticed a weird orange stripe across the back at an angle but exactly going through the middle and perfectly fired and straight. I just wondered if anyone could shed any light on how it got there? Just interested if it's maybe a defect of some sort. Thanks Report this Post to the Staff

NumisRob Bedrock of the Community United Kingdom 17901 Posts	Posted 07/28/2019 3:50 pm Hello and I imagine this has been caused since the coin left the Mint - I'm wondering if it's a stain left by a rubber band - perhaps someone had a stack of 50p's and put a rubber band around them to hold them together?
