Rims have an odd mushy look. Haven't seen this before on a large cent so don't know what the cause may be.

nice chocolate color. the coin has a greenish hue to it. when looking closer it appears it could be from PVC storage. the coin should be soaked in verdicare to remove it and protect this coin. the mushiness of the rim area is from a soft strike and does not affect the coins grade. MS62BN

MS61/62BN by the looks of it, the little dark dash next to the Y in LIBERTY looks like verdigris, or just some gunk, it is not part of the design nor a variety that I'm aware of. Will probably come off with a soak in acetone or using verdi-care.
