it weighs 3.5 grams it's thicker than a normal penny and this guy is a member of 2 state numismatic assosiations with 60 years of coin dealing I'm pretty sure the man knows what he's talking about.

Weight? Different alloy?

This appears to be environmental damage with a large scratch on the reverse.
