Hello-
My interests are mainly with penny errors and special dates, although I've bought bank boxes of other coins as well. I think that I prefer the pennies as there are more of them in a box and it takes longer to go through them, keeping the hunt alive for the unusual for hours.

I do have two error pennies that I can't find like matches to though, and I'm hoping someone on here can tell me what they are?

Good Day To You

I hunt pennies as well, mainly for die varities, but a nice error every once in a while is a treat.

Dimes have 50 to a roll also and have 2500 to a box. Nickels and quarters do not, they have 40 per roll, 2000 to a box.

Just thought I'd put that out there.

Welcome to the CCF! The 1995 D looks like a lamination error. The 2002 looks like someone squeezed it in a vice grip plier, definitely PMD.

The 2002 is damage on the coin. Looks like the 1995 has something on the coin. While it was mentioned as being a lamination issue, zinc cents don't suffer with lamination issues. Only the copper planchets and silver planchets have issues with thi. Few clad planchets have missing clad issues. But on your coin it maybe glue or something else that dried on your coin.

Thanks for the input and for the links.
The thing about the '02D is that there are what look to be true Cuds on the rim where the marks end, and if they were made using a vice, wouldn't the marks penetrate the finish on the surfaces, which they don't?

The surface is penetrated. Note the rims are distorted? This tells me this happened after the strike and I'd damage. Didn't happen during the strike.

Note the areas you are looking at, are incuse marks, pushing out the edge. This in not a mint error. The collar prevents the out of circular edge should look like. So you are seeing damage, not part of a Cud. A Cud is caused by a void on the dies when metal breaks off the die, the void filled in, is now a raised area on the coin, not an incuse area on the coin.
