2019 W Mintmark Quarter Error - Coin Community Forum

jmewrites Valued Member United States 90 Posts	Posted 08/03/2019 02:20 am I think the lettering on the reverse is Machine Doubling, but there an error on the hub of the wheel on the reverse. Two spokes are poking into the hub. Any help with this is appreciated. jmewrites Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 08/03/2019 2:06 pm The reverse devices on the outer circle of the ATB Quarters, the devices are incuse. So the slighest movement of the dies can make it look like they are doubled dies, but are not. It is Machine Doubling before/after/both of the strike. 70% of these quarter can be affected slightly/differently from coin to coin even from the same dies/machine. No hub doubling present from the images I can see so far. Report this Post to the Staff
