@mn35, first welcome to CCF. Second, where are you seeing doubling with the coin in hand? I agree with @e&v that there doesn't appear to be doubling in this picture.

Pretty normal looking - just damaged. The term you are looking for is "Doubled Die".

Double die means two dies.
Doubled die means that the hub created two sets of devices on the same die. Some can be major:
2014-D-Penny-Possibly-A-Double-Dye?
Others are more obscure:
2014-D-Penny-Possibly-A-Double-Dye?
The obscure ones you often need to see with an occular aide.
2014-D-Penny-Possibly-A-Double-Dye?
These is not a striking issue, but a double set of devices are on the die. Thus the term doubled die, because the doubling is on the die.
