Hello to All,
Can someone provide input on the 1968D Quarter shown? Is this a Cladding issue (top area of Obverse) and is there some sort of doubling on on Washiington's profile (more specifically the head area).

Kind Regards,

Looks like maybe staining and/or Die Deterioration.

Not a mint error in my opinion.

Just a very slight MAD. The rims are just not equal. This coin has a lot of circulation wear. It was the year/mint of the huge DDR.

Thank you for everyone's input. Coop, I always enjoy your very educational replies! I have taken the time to provide more info on the 1968 Quarter.

The area I have shaded in purple is a valley (not dirt) surrounding the word Liberty ... meaning its topography is lower than the word Liberty.
