Hi. I am brand new here. I think I have found an interesting coin, as well. A 1944 D/S OMM? With what looks like a "V" where the "T"in Liberty would be. Someone suggested a tampering of the "T" but why would filing create two angled lines, such as those found on a "V"? To Thanks for your help.

The T in liberty is the result of a very strong hit, pushing the copper so far to the left making it look like a V. As far as the D/S I don't think it's OMM-002 (but would need better and closer/larger photo..and as far as OMM-001 your mint mark is in the wrong location..lets see what others think..
to CCF...good luck on future finds, happy hunting and have fun

For some reason the T in LIBERTY seems to be a magnet for circulation hits that make the T look like a Y or a V depending on how far down the T gets split.
