Hello all, found this little guy while roll hunting. Its pretty beat up, but just wanted a quick confirmation that this is indeed a mis-aligned die? Having part of "LIBERTY" and the date cut off makes it the most dramatic example I have yet. Based on condition, I'm guessing its not worth anything over face, but would you guys keep it around? I think I shall. also curious if there's any other markers to indicate what the date on this coin is. Thanks in advance for all your input. Edited by 1962penny 08/10/2019 12:42 am

Nice find. As you suspect it is called a MAD. Since part of the design is missing on the obverse, it will have a value more than face, even though in circulated condition. I am not qualified to give an estimate on value. Wait for experts to speak.

Congratulations. Very nice find. I would definitely keep it. The angle of the upright on the last date number would have me leaning towards a 7.

Awesome find! It's the real deal. It will carry a premium over face value, since the devices are cut off.

I agree 1987 and I agree worth over face. Nice find in the wild!

Nice bush-find! I can no longer bear, letting a decent MAD
go for 10 bucks or so. It gives me the feeling, that my time is nearly
worthless, considering the 100s or 1000s of hours it took to find.
It' much more gratifying to find a YN who's into E&Vs, for me anyway.
BTW, I'm leaning towards a 7.
