1971-D Jefferson Nickel.. Low Mintmark?

Hey guys another quick question.
I just found the nickel on the left (not in the folder). compared to my other one in the folder, it looks like the mintmark is much lower. Am I seeing things? is this a variety of any sort? or just a different die used. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!

No you aren't. The mintmark was applied to the dies by hand at this time and so it's position varied a little bit. Most likely no premium unless the mintmark is so far out of the ideal location that it is touching another design element.

I've seen a post somewhere that there is a variance in mint marks. I believe this fits within an acceptable range for the mint mark. I do think its a bit lower.
