Today was a great day. I finally made time to post bail at the Collectors Shop where he was holding my 1942/41 and 1942D/41 for the crime of being circulated past the stage of Extra Fine. I still look for an occassional upgrade on only a few coins. All in all the set is EF and above with the exception of the 1916D and the two overdates. My 1916D is AG3. The 1921 is F12 and 1921D is F15. Here is the pics of the overdates for viewing. Image: IMG_0041.jpg89.63 KB Image: IMG_0044.jpg99.06 KB Image: IMG_0047.jpg93.64 KB Image: IMG_0050.jpg96.96 KB

Nice job on the completion! How long do you say it took? Is it a mix of slabbed and raw coins?

This makes me want to find Jbuck's just_carl's flea market and search for those for $1. I did my research to not give any misinformation.

Jon, I believe it was a little over a year that went by while filling all the holes. I've made some good trades but in hindsight I overpaid for several also. It'll come out in the wash. 1sikevo, absolutely need to upgrade the 16D. Always on the prowl for a bargain. Coindexter, I don't need the 17S upgrade but The 19D,S, 24D, 25D and 28S large could use a boost. The following are the only slabs I have in Mercs. I purchased the 21D's raw and sent them off to NGC. The 23S VF30 has been upgraded to a raw AU. Actually I suck at it. nlp

Congradualations. OK so now your addicted to Mercury dimes. So start a second set and as you acquire better coins put them into set #1 and the ones from set #1 to #2. I started that about 50 or more years ago. Are you leaving those in the slabs? I just have to have all my coins in albums, 2x2's or rolls. As to my flea market where the guy sells Mercury dimes for $1 and if you buy a lot the price goes down. He is getting a little more intelligent since I tried to explain some of the ones he sold me are worth a real lot of money. So now he tries to sell them for $1.25 but I argue with him and still get them for less. last week, I think it was, I got a bunch for a little over $1 each. If your in the Chicago area, West of Chicago on Lake Street just west of Manhiem Road, on the South side of the Street is a large sign saying Swaporama Flea Market. That guy is always there on Fridays and usually Saturday. Just inside the main gate, White truck, big guy, looks dirty all the time, name is Bob. Many coins just dumped into bins. He has a large variety of foreign currency and coins also. Most of his customers are into those. The thing to note if you go there is he doesn't sell by dates or mint marks. I don't think he knows what the D, S, etc stand for and doesn't care.

Geez Carl,
I know we've talked about meeting in person before elsewhere but the Swap O Rama? Is that the one you can see from 294?
If it is I've only driven by a few hundred times.
Coming from the east where would I exit? Maybe around Cicero?
Yeah, we need to meet up and I'LL buy the coffee.
