Mintage will be 30K (double last year's 15K). Reverse proof this year versus last year's frosted proof. With the current price of Pd, the coin's price would be $1,837.50, around $450 more than last year. Initial HH limit still is one coin. Release date is Sep 5th. Any predictions? Will this one go as fast as last year's or is the mintage and price now too high? Edited by BadDog 08/14/2019 3:22 pm

it's a pity they raised the mintage

I ask who really cares?
The modern US Mint offerings have IMHO served to turn off many collectors who used to try and keep up with the issues - who remains in collecting all of these issues?
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

Or really sure what to think of this one. It's a design many live and RPs in general are popular, but the increased mintage by that much seems to be a mistake in terms of future value.

if they can't sell 50k apollo gold coins, how will they sell 30k of these?

Well they sold last years out pretty quick. But that was 15k mintage and at 1200-1300 each. First year they did a proof Palladium Eagle (I think they messed up by issuing a 2017 coin that was issued only to dealers) But with Palladium now being $1,440 I think it will be very difficult to sell 15k let alone 30k.
I do like the design of the reverse and I wish they had other options like they do with palladium/gold coins from the mint.

Love the design of this coin, wish they made it in silver. I can't justify $1800+ for a coin when saving for a house.

First off, it should be mentioned that the release date is delayed a week and is now September 12th. A few ebay pre-sales have already occurred A couple of PCGS graded PR70s have sold. One with a First Day Long Beach Expo label (will this label even exist now that the release is after the Expo ) went for $3,990 and another with a First Strike label went for $3,199. An OGP coin sold for $2,500. With Pd just under $1500/ozt, the Mint's price should be $1,887.50. Has anyone heard of any dealers offering bounties to get around the HH limits (I haven't)?

The 30k max is steering me away from this one. I haven't heard of any dealers/bounties...which is probably about the only way I'd do this coin at the moment.

So it comes out tomorrow and its sale price is 1987.50... I wonder if they were thinking the price of Palladium would go up so they could sell it more? Oh well. At this price its too expensive for me. I do love my 2018 Proof Palladium though. I wish they had like 1/10 ounce or 1/4 ounce so more people could enjoy the design. Maybe next year.
