I have a 1971 D Nickel which has an extreme beveled edge, seems a bit thin, the fields are extra shiny and through a few holes/cracks you can see a copper/clad color.

I know there were a few known 1971 .50c coins that were mis struck on a clad planchet or something along those lines. I have a stack of 1971 Nickels and this is nothing like the rest.

Im guessing this is a off-metal, wrong planchet, or ?

I am interested in any and all feedback. Thanks! MG-

To CCF! I've seen those beveled lines many times before on coins, but I can't remember the proper terminology it would be called.

to CCF. I think it has to do with a low pressure strike? Kinda common. Need to know weight for being off-metal.Also full coin photos, front and back.

Welcome. I've had a dime with beveled edge and was told it's super common, so no premium for this.

Cheers

Looks like a plated coin from what I can see. No premium just a spender.
