I can't tell where that "mark@ is located at? Can you post one pic and point to it?

Looks like a Pre-Die Chip depression to me. The piece didn't chip off yet, but was about to.

I took a second look, and there's also another possibility that it could be just a hit from damage that caused the metal to get pushed over and flattened.

Looks more like coin damage pushing that area inwards. The lower part is parT of the normal design The upper part is just damage. You can see the striations lines from the die next to the on that area.
