Okay. I copied your image, ran it through Photoshop and did a Bing Reverse Image Search. Drum roll... You found BIGFOOT!

Like you said, it look like an interesting die chip. Does it stand out from the surface?

I don't know what that is but it sure looks creepy. Get rid of it ASAP!

Definitely not a Die Chip, just zinc rot forming. PSD. Spend it while you can, before it rots into a dust of nothing.

Thanks for the opinions but I don't think it's "zink rot" or PSD. It's raised from the surface of the coin and there's no really alot of damage anywhere else on the coin.

It's obvious now that area 51 is not as secure as we were led to believe!

I'm in the zinc rot camp. It has to start somewhere.

Well, sorry, but it's PSD. Not an error coin as stated before. Just spend it.

I'm in with the Zinc rot group.

Looking like a volcano in the center and sunken around the edge where the zinc has dissolved and the area has become depressed (about it's fate.)
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Maybe it should be a national park?

Coop, your images keep getting more realistic all the time. I'm on board with that NP quarter as a proof.

I tried something new on that image. I made duplicate layers on image, the lower one darken, middle layer, mid toned. Place layer two over darker one. Then erase the outer edge of the characters, leaving a darker outline around edges of the details. Then place the normal image on top. Then erase the centers of the devices. Thus making it look raised like a coin. Just an new idea.
