I have been hearing about this 1943 copper penny alot lately..and it would be nice if I found one or everybody foumd one lol.. Anyways.I had mentioned the 1943 coper penny to my youngest brother whom I live with..and I told him how great it would be to find a 1943 copper penny..and he responded to me and said."I have one.."and left the room and grabbed this coin from wherever and said ."Here it is." I was in denial. and looked at the coin and noticed it was damaged where the 3 should be...He seriously believes that this coin is the one..He tried to show me where he can see the 3 where it got pushed over and I thought I saw a 3. Is there any psychic or forensic coin peeps out there who can get to the bottom of this?

to the CCF We would need a close up of the date. The large hit on the date will probably make it impossible to tell what it was. -CH27

Microscopic examination might lead to an answer. Take it to a local coin shop if there is one available to you.
The likelihood is about the same as finding a Picasso at a garage sale.

IMO, the damage is too severe to figure the date out.

I'd spend it and wouldn't even think twice about it.

Think you're trying to see things that aren't actually there - as moxking has said the chance of this being an actual 1943 copper is overwhelmingly low.

The '3' on the 1943 cent is facing the opposite direction: Just a normal copper cent on the 40's Wheat cent, but not a 43.

Too damaged to notice a "3", what does the back look like? To me looks like late 40s.

The 4 in the date looks most like the one used in 1942.
