How would I determine if this is a weak strike or wear?

If I were to take an educated guess, I would say most likely a Slot machine coin, it may have made many gamblers winners OR the opposite

It probably is just very worn, but it is unusual for me to find one with this little detail. Maybe 5 in 35000
Rest in Peace

it's intentional. Note the many horizontal scratches, particularly around the bust outline.

Very unusually worn down and circulated Ike dollar. Must have seen a ton of circulation somewhere.

Cheers,

So as we all can see, it's a 1974 D Ike dollar, spent its entire life at the Stardust Casino in Las Vegas and when they blew up the Stardust this coin went with it, then during demo clean-up.....sounded good...

Most likely it's a 72, the bag it came out of was pretty much only 72s and bicentennials
